The SD2SP2 v2 Pro is an upgrade to the Serial port 2 sd card readers that have been used with Gamecube homebrew for the past several years known as a semi-passive adapter. The v2 upgrade silverstee1 when it was discovered that adding a few components would greatly speed up sd card access. And the Pro model came from misteraddons with the ability to access the sd card from the side, which is much preferred with a Gameboy player attached.
Several homebrew loader options allow for reading Swiss or other homebrew from an SD card in a SD2SP2 v2 pro.
Includes:
- 2 part SD2SP2 v2 Pro PCB
- 3D printed bezel fitting to insure the SD card isn't dropped inside the SP2 port unintentionally (Flush PCB, Indent slot version)
Requires:
- Gamecube with an SP2 port. Open the port covers on the bottom and look under the one labeled Serial Port 2 (if reading the sticker on the bottom of the Gamecube, port is on the bottom right side, smaller cover)
- compatible SD card
No soldering or other modifications to the Gamecube are necessary. Newest versions of Swiss are required to achieve the best speeds from the V2 SD2SP2 sd cards.
This mod is designed to add functionality to a stock Gamecube. Soldering is not required for this kit.
Bezel is 3D printed here at HQ. The PCB is sourced and assemble from China. Some assembly is finished at HQ.
This, like all pcbs sold at RingerKeys RetroModStore, cannot be returned due to the sensitive and fragile nature of printed circuit boards. If you have any questions about this or any of our products, please contact Dan from the menu below.
