From Dan:
The Static is here at RingerKeys and, like everything I sell, a lot of time and effort has gone into it being here. I saw this kit on CandyKeys instagram and loved it. My nephew and I have been enjoying building TH kits and I've been trying to convince him to try a 40%, a genre of the hobby that has spoke to me for a while now. I bought one from CandyKeys, my relationship with David has been very influential since starting RingerKeys, so I was happy to, and I'm very patient, didn't mind waiting for shipping from Germany.
The prep and build quality to this is amazing, the work on the PCB and case design made me reach out. I spoke with Jakob and Conor, and they were even more impressive. We worked it out and learned a bit about Germany's export laws and here they are.
They have some amazing resources available for this Open Sourced hardware and software design.

They've also agreed to handle customer service build problems via their discord. Amazing team. I cannot wait to see what else they bring to the hobby.
Excerpts from Candykeys and 0xCB.dev:
While the days of waking up to black and white static on your TV late at night have passed, the 0xCB Static keyboard will soon be available exclusively through CandyKeys and RingerKeys as an in-stock DIY kit! We've taken the through-hole keyboards you already know and love to a new level with this release; we're talking OLED screen, rotary encoder, custom designed and 3D printed feet, does it get any better?
This is a barebones DIY 40% mechanical keyboard kit, you will need to do some basic soldering and provide your own switches and keycaps of choice. We listened closely to what the community wanted, so the Static has a comfortable 6 degree typing and multiple layout options (including split spacebars!). We wanted you to have access to all the latest and greatest features so of course the board is using QMK, we've even pre-flashed it with VIA so you can edit your keymaps on the fly!
The Static is a beautiful modern board that balances elegant lines with exposed components nicely, and will be available in a black or white colourway initially. It will come with FR4 plates stock. We can't wait to see what kinds of builds everyone comes up with, and hope you all love building and using the 0xCB Static as much as they did designing and bringing it to market!
The Static has two available orientations, a 6° angle via their 3D printed feet or flat against your desk, if that's more your flavor. For both future-proofing and convenience sake they've gone with a left-mounted USB-C port, thinking this is ideal for the majority of people. Using the stock firmware the rotary encoder will function as volume control, but this is totally programmable within QMK/VIA itself so you may find it useful for things like page scrolling or video/audio seeking. By taking a glance at your OLED screen, you'll quickly be able to tell not only what layer you're on but information like whether caps/num lock is enabled. Not only that, but they've added a hidden animated second layer to your OLED that features everyone's favorite percussion-loving feline, BongoCat. He'll show up to play the song of his people on his drum whenever you begin typing, and will beat it faster and faster as your own wpm increase!
As previously mentioned, the Static keyboard natively supports both QMK and VIA. This makes it incredibly easy to configure your keyboard to your exact needs; from how many layers you have and what each does, to specific workflow macros, to the rotary encoder/OLED screen behavior! The possibilities are truly endless and they've really only scratched the surface here, you're just gonna have to get your hands on one to see what they mean!
