Another Ringer Keys and Keeb.Supply deal brings Helios to the 0xCB collection! With our partnership with 0xCB and celebrating their new addition and continued development of great ideas to the mechanical keyboard hobby.
The 0xCB Helios is an Elite-C compatible MicroController that is based on the RP2040.
They've shared their GitHub.
Above is the new castellated holes version.
This is the older model with normal through-holes for the header pins
Meet Helios, the rp2040 Controller with pro micro compatible pinout, 16MB (128Mbit) of flash, Dual ARM Cortex-M0 @133MHz, and 264kB SRAM.
Helios has an ESD protection chip onboard, supports VBUS detection for split keyboards, and you can select VBUS instead of raw for the 5V pin to hook up an external USB port with the included D+ and D- pads while maintaining ESD protection.
It features a default off red power LED that you can turn on via a jumper, a blue user LED, and a level-shifter to drive 5V components.
Another huge advantage is the single button reset circuit which enables you to reset the board with a short click and enter the bootloader with a long (>500ms) click. This backwards compatiblility also enables you to use reset buttons on existing keyboards for both functions.
